Learning Outcomes 5 and 6

Learning Outcome 5: document their work using appropriate conventions (MLA).

Learning Outcome 6: control sentence-level error(grammar, punctuation, spelling).

Framing Statement:

Through the MLA form of writing the use of MLA citations, and the use of correct grammar is necessary for a successful paper and key to any course outside of English 110. If proper MLA formatting is not used a paper would be all over the place not only to understand but the overall smoothness and effectiveness of the paper would be diminished. In this specific essay I feel I had a good use of the MLA in text citations when incorporating quotations that it was easy to follow what source that quotation had came from through looking at the works cited.

After my global revision time and once I feel a final copy is created is when I bring in the use of the local edits of the paper. I spend a great time reading sentences out loud, to figure out what form of punctuation is necessary at its moments, adding commas when necessary, and making sure my spelling is correct. A great deal of my time is specified to locating where commas are necessary, as I feel that is one of my weakest aspects when correcting local edits. At times it would feel as if I were adding to commas to every sentence, but it ultimately was necessary for creating a good grammatical essay.
